It all begins with an idea.
Ember Kelly Art started as a small side project focusing primarily on watercolor pet portraits. I adore painting animals and it has been so fun learning a little bit about each pet's personality.
It has been an incredibly important outlet for me during the pandemic, and has also brought joy and sweet memories back to folks who have have lost their beloved pets.
My Process
I try to carve out time to work a few evenings a week, and will often host Instagram Live sessions over at @EmberKellyArt where you can watch me paint in real time and also ask questions or just chat. It’s been fun to invite the recipient of the piece to watch the actual creation and see their portrait come to life. I primarily use Daniel Smith Watercolors and Arches paper.
